Summary/Responsibilities:
Multi-billion dollar investment management firm whose clients include public funds/Taft-Hartley plans/corporations/foundations/endowments/individuals seeks an experienced Operations Manager to join their team as a player/coach of a small operations/trade support group
Oversee reconciliation of accounts on Advent Axys portfolio accounting system
Detect accrual/cash errors created by custodian banks, and assist in client report requests
Assume reconciliation responsibilities for some accounts and work with other team members to meet deadlines
Oversee timely settlement of equity/fixed income trades and trade reconciliations
Handle settlement issues/trade errors
Manage maintenance of custodian bank/broker settlement relationships
Oversee corporate action processing/proxy voting maintenance and billing of client accounts
Work with direct reports to maintain/observe operations policies/procedures for account reconciliation/trade settlement/new account opening/additions to existing accounts
Evaluate staff and address performance issues
Work in partnership with the Chief Compliance Officer in fulfilling all compliance/audit requests
Work in partnership with the Controller in fulfilling all financial reporting requirements
Interact with senior management/client service and sales team/trading desk/portfolio managers as needed

Requirements:
Minimum of 7-10 years investment operations experience is required including some experience in managing a team
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
Experience required with multiple operational processes: order generation/trade processing/confirmation and settlement/corporate actions/reconciliation
Experience across equities/fixed income securities is also desired
Proficiency in Omgeo/Tradesuite/MacGregor/Advent Axys/SQL (Structured Query Language)/Microsoft products and other database systems is helpful
Highly organized individual with excellent problem solving/multi-tasking capabilities required
