Summary/Responsibilities:
Electronic trading firm seeks specialist to become an integral member of their technical operations team – a small, fast-paced team dedicated to highly optimized access to electronic marketplaces, overseeing order flow to multiple exchanges worldwide.
The operations team is the front-line interface with venues/exchanges, ensuring our system is always connected and running at peak performance.
This is hands-on role requiring inter-personal skills (liaising with traders/venues) and strong technical skills to manage order routing connections to electronic marketplaces.
Research/investigate trading glitches; troubleshoot specific order/exchange malfunctions; resolve system component problems.

Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of Linux and 2+ years administering Linux systems in a production environment required.
Required experience: shell-scripting and regex; complex networking infrastructure (TCP/UDP/etc.); transition from front-end applications to back-end support; performance analysis of real-time systems; monitoring/maintaining 24/7 uptime systems; programming in high transaction environments and low-latency systems.
Preferred experience: knowledge of Linux kernel compilation; PERL and BASH; coding in core JAVA and Python; working with financial systems; knowledge of world financial marketplaces.
